Philadelphia Sketch Club Photography Show 2013

The presence of family over the many years of use permeate the atmosphere of the bedroom.

“Cottage Bed” one of my “Reunion Series” a group of photographs examining the personal and archetypal qualities of home in America was inspired by an abode so familiar to the artist but seen through a new lens reveals the place home and hearth can have in our collective psyche.
This image (selected for an honorable mention) is one of three that I submitted to The Philadelphia Sketch Club’s Photography Show 2013. It is an honor to be part of this year’s show at our country’s oldest artists club. Please visit sketchclub.org for hours and more information.

Reunion Series Show at the Bridgeton House

I am excited to say this exhibition has been invited to have an extended run until February 3rd, 2013.  Bridgeton House has also offered their warm hospitality, again, and will host a closing tea on that Sunday from 1:00 until 4:00 pm.  Please join us and take the opportunity to “meet the artist”.

I am excited to have the opportunity to present this new series so soon and in such a lovely setting.  Bridgeton House on the Delaware, in Upper black Eddy, Pennsylvania has graciously invited me to exhibit this “Reunion Series” along with photographs selected from the body of my work through the fall and into the winter.

I had been walking around the family farm when it began to rain.  As I entered the cottage with my equipment in hand, I immediately felt the presence of past generations in the room.  Through my camera lens I “saw” the imprint of these lives as I never had before.  I love the opportunity to highlight and honor these qualities through my focus on the very everyday objects that are so familiar to me and my family.
